From Greenwood to the Capitol:
Dr. Jennettie Marshall Files for State Superintendent
TULSA – [April 1, 2026] – Dr. Jennettie Marshall will make a symbolic and literal journey from the historic Greenwood District to the State Capitol tomorrow marking her drive to become State Superintendent of Public Instruction and lead K-12 schools in a new direction.
A popular pastor, community leader and revered advocate for children and families, Marshall was elected to and served eight years in the nonpartisan post of board member for Tulsa Public Schools. In recognition of her work, the Tulsa Big Wheels MC and Social Clubs will escort her to Oklahoma City with supporters joining along the route. They are expected to arrive at the State Capitol by noon so she can officially file her candidacy.
The motorcycle rally and ride are also part of the clubs’ remembrance of the April 2012 Good Friday shooting tragedy as the Tulsa community continues to heal from the racially motivated attack. It reflects Marshall’s lifelong commitment to human rights and justice, values that have guided her leadership in public education.
THE PLAN for Wed., April 1:
10 a.m.: Gather to start Motorcycle Rally for Peace and Educational Change in the Greenwood Historical District near the Cultural Center, Tulsa
10:30 a.m.: Leave on ride down Turner Turnpike to Oklahoma City
Approx. NOON: Arrive at State Capitol then at State Election Board
Approx. 1:30 p.m.: Marshall for Oklahoma rally at Hank’s Restaurant, N.E. 63rd Street, Oklahoma City 73111
5-7:00 pm: Marshall for Oklahoma rally at El Patron Cocina Mexicana, E. 51st Street, Tulsa 74135
